What is Amiyori?
Amiyori is the evolution of what is known as "Onigiri" in Japan. There, onigiri is a traditional take away fast food that is even more popular than sushi.
In contrast to sushi, Amiyori does not contain ingredients such as, for example, raw fish. That's why Amiyori is popular even with kids.
Therefore Amiyori is an ideal alternative to both conventional rich fast food and the ubiquitous offers of sushi of sometimes questionnable quality.
The main ingredient of Amiyori is high-quality "Japanese" rice that is rinsed following a special procedure before it is gently cooked. Rice is an excellent source of energy and hardly contains any fat.
The steamed rice is shaped into the typical triangular form and filled with different tasty ingredients such as beef and ginger or salmon.
Meat or salmon are fried virtually fat-free thanks to a patented "frying sheet" and are refined with special Japanese seasonings.
The filled rice ball is then wrapped with a sheet of mineral-rich seaweed, called Nori, which gives it consistency and its typical look.
